Rachel Murphy, Founding Attorney

Rachel Murphy

Founding Attorney

Willena

Estate planning shouldn't be a luxury.

I'm Rachel — estate-planning attorney and founder of Willena. I help Idaho individuals and couples put Wills, Trusts, and Powers of Attorney in place with flat-fee pricing and plain-English explanations. Estate planning is something every adult needs, regardless of how much they own.

Willena (wi-LAY-nuh) means "determined protector." I built the practice for people with a total net worth under about $6 million — folks traditional firms tend to underserve, who still deserve real guidance instead of fill-in-the-blank forms. You work directly with me, start to finish.

Every plan starts with a conversation, not a stack of forms.

I'm glad you're here. Whether you want to book a planning meeting, send a quick question, or save my card for later, it's all one tap away.

PURPOSE

Who I help & how I do it

I built Willena for people who've been putting this off — because it felt expensive, intimidating, or like something only wealthy families do. None of that is true, and an hour with me usually proves it.

Who I help

Young families

Parents who need guardians named for their children and a plan that works if the worst happens.

Retirees & pre-retirees

Folks who want to spare their kids the cost and delay of probate, and put decisions in writing.

New Idahoans

You moved here with documents from another state. Some still work; the Powers of Attorney usually don't.

Single professionals

No spouse, no kids, still very much in need of someone with legal authority if you're in the hospital.

What makes me different

Flat fees, published

You see the menu before you decide, and you know exactly how the price moves if you add or simplify.

Accessible by design

Prices intentionally set at the lower end of the market. Shop around — I encourage it.

Plain English

I explain a revocable trust the way I'd explain it to a friend, before you sign anything.

Actually pleasant

Clients regularly tell me they expected to dread this and didn't. Some humor helps.

How I do it

Gather information

You complete a secure online questionnaire in DecisionVault so I understand your circumstances before we meet.

Meet with Rachel

About an hour in person or over Zoom. I walk you through your options and help you choose a plan for your goals and budget.

Review your drafts

I personally prepare your documents and send drafts ahead of signing, then answer questions and make adjustments.

Sign documents

We meet in person to sign. You leave with a complete plan and clear instructions for maintaining it.

If you see yourself in one of these groups, the next step is a planning meeting. It's an hour, and you'll leave knowing where you stand.

The short version of the person behind the documents — some of this is placeholder copy, so send me your real details and I'll swap them in.

My background

I'm a Chicago-area native and a Stanford Law graduate, but Boise has been home since 2013. I spent more than fifteen years on complex matters — a large firm in New York City, then the Illinois Attorney General's Office — before moving into estate planning during the pandemic and founding Willena.

Powers of Attorney

Financial and healthcare powers, end-of-life wishes, and a HIPAA waiver. $400.

Will Plan

What makes us different

Menu-based pricing

No hourly rates that make you afraid to ask questions. You see what each service costs before you decide.

Low overhead by design

Meetings in a private co-working conference room instead of a high-rent office, plus smart legal tech. You pay for expertise, not fluff.

An approachable experience

No intimidating law office, no dumb questions. We talk through hard decisions with clarity and a little lightness.

One attorney, start to finish

I draft every document myself and explain what each one does in plain English.

Costs of inaction

  • A judge — not you — decides who raises your children.
  • Idaho intestacy law decides who receives your property.
  • Your family goes through probate: public, slow, and expensive.
  • No one has legal authority to pay your bills or make medical decisions if you can't.

Benefits of working with us

Clarity

Plain-English explanations of every document before you sign it.

Predictability

Flat fees from a published menu, agreed before we start.

Efficiency

Most plans are complete within four to eight weeks.
